Chicago digs out from snowiest storm in 5 years, some closures persist Monday as arctic weekend looms

Parts of the area had more than a foot of snow and the official total was the “largest snowfall event total in five years,” since 11.2 inches fell over two days in November 2015, National Weather Service meteorologists said.
